July 25 - 27, 2008 - Parish Camping Trip
Yes, the weather forecasters promise us that that
summer is coming (and not a minute too soon)! The annual Parish
Camping Trip is scheduled for July 25–27 at Crazy Horse
Campground in
Brodhead,
Wisconsin, about two hours from Oak Park. Located on the Sugar
River, there is something for everyone: tubing, swimming,
fishing, kayaking, and canoeing are available as well as
horseshoe pits, miniature golf range, driving range, batting
cage, volley ball and basketball, arcade, camp store, pedal
karts, petting zoo, pony rides, supervised crafts for kids, “all
you can eat” ice cream on Sat. afternoon, hayride, kids’ movie
on Saturday night, and bingo on Sunday.
Numbers participating in this trip have grown each
year and we always have a ball! You don’t have to know anyone
else on the camping trip before you go – you’ll make alot of new
friends by the end of the weekend! The campground provides kids’
crafts and a tie-dying activity on Saturday. On Friday night
there is an “all you can eat” fish fry, on Saturday they provide
an “all you can eat” spaghetti dinner, and on Sunday, an “all
you can eat” pancake breakfast, so you really don’t need to
bring much food with you. We may decide to have a “smorgasbord”
type of supper on Saturday.
The fee for a standard site is $74 plus tax for 2 nights; each site
includes electric and water. If you don’t camp or have any gear,
but wish to join the group, deluxe cabins or cottages are
available. Our official headquarters is Site 72.
The
deluxe cottages sleep six – eight people and have several rooms
– front room with kitchenette (Microwave, toaster, coffee
maker), full size sleeper sofa, sleeping loft, refrigerator,
dishes and silverware for 8, master bedroom has queen bed.
Bathrooms include shower. Rustic cabins sleep 6. Both cabins and
cottages have air conditioning and covered front porches. You
just bring linens and towels and any outdoor cooking utensils
you’ll need.

Please

must be signed by all campers before the event. More
